Car bomb killed five people in Diyarbakir

Kurdish Terrorist Organization PKK has attacked the bus which was carrying soldiers to their homes. The bomb was in a car parked on a crowded street in Diyarbakir. Two of the five people killed were students, while some 30 soldiers were among the injured.

Ten mining companies prospecting on the greenest mountain in the world

Ten mining companies prospecting for various metals in the Ida Mountains (Kaz Dağları) have been criticized for destroying centuries-old trees, the daily Radikal reported yesterday.

Ten companies that are still in the exploration stage are destroying the trees there. Mud has already mixed with the water on Homer's Ida with a thousand springs. The local residents are determined to not allow this: We will protect our mountain, the paper quoted them as saying.

In the Bayramiç area tens of trees have been cut only in the exploration stage. Bulldozers have uprooted juniper trees in the Küçükkuyu area. Muddy water has started to flow in the village streams. Mayors, who have come together to discuss the problem, say if the government gives mining permission, agriculture and stockbreeding will end. 47% of the electorate cast their votes for the AKP across the country, proving that they are satified with AKP. the AKP has its roots in political Islam and AKP is non-nationalist, AKP sell every Turkish company to foreigners such as Telsim to Vodafone... Most of the nationalist Turks accuse AKP of being the servant of U.S. and E.U.

Election week for Turkey

22 July 2007 Sunday is the election day for Turkey. No new perspectives are offered by political parties. Most importrant issue for Turkish citizens is the terror problem in the southeastern Turkey. Some Kurds who call them as PKK attacks Turkish soldiers and villagers. Turkish people are very sensitive to this problem. Nobody wants more death.


The promises of the parties are as follows:

AKP

“National” reinforcement.

All precautions against the threat of terrorism will be effectively implemented.

No one will be permitted to use the territories of neighboring countries as a terrorist base.

It is a natural right of Turkey to guarantee its national security within the scope of international law and to develop a strong line of security against internal and external threats.

The effective and comprehensive policies that have been applied in order to eradicate terrorism and strengthen the common feeling of belonging among all citizens shall be continued.

CHP

No to ethnic exploitation.

The actions of the terrorist organization will be brought to an end. Border security will be provided.

Relations with other countries will be determined by their reactions to terrorism.

The rights that have been granted by international conventions will be fully exercised.

The struggle against terrorism will not be hampered by yielding the issue to the permission of the European Union and United States.

Domestic and foreign financial support for terrorism will be prevented.

MHP

The terrorist leader will be transferred to an F-type prison.

Terrorism will be eradicated through political and military measures.

Turkey's security will not be handed over to the authorization of third parties.

The existence of the terrorist PKK in Europe and its media will be dealt with through an effective and solution-oriented approach.

Foreign support for terrorism will be prevented.

Terrorist crimes will be excluded from the scope of amnesty.

The terrorist leader will be transferred from İmralı to an F-type prison.

DP

No one shall interfere with the feeling of belonging of citizens.

The fight against terrorism will continue.

The citizens who continuously underline ideas of difference and separation will be enlightened with policies that shall make them realize the truth and the fact that no citizen is less important than the other for the state.

Democracy, freedom and the law will be implemented at the utmost level for every person in all of Turkey.

Neither the state nor other authorities will decide about the ethnic, cultural and faith-based belongings of citizens. The state will establish an atmosphere in which everybody is free in his decision and vote.
